BASF Launches Technical Development Scholarship Program in McIntosh, Alabama

BASF has announced a technical development scholarship program at its McIntosh facility for students seeking a career in Applied Science in Paper and Chemical Technology or Instrumentation and Electrical (I/E). The program will focus on hiring and developing local candidates at Coastal Alabama Community College.

“This program offers BASF the opportunity to provide scholarships to students pursuing a career in the chemical industry,” said Marcus Pezent, Site Director of BASF in McIntosh. “It is important that students in our community have the opportunity to get the skills and knowledge needed for our industry.”

Three Coastal Alabama Community College candidates were selected to participate in the two-year academic program. Jordan Taylor and Morgan Baugh will pursue an I/E certificate, and Keanna Holcombe will earn a Paper and Chemical certificate. BASF will cover the tuition and fees associated with the program and offer participants the opportunity to engage in on-the-job training with a competitive wage which will progress each semester determined by school and job performance.
