Shamrock Technologies is focusing on sustainable technologies during the 2022 American Coatings Show, including introducing sustainable bio-based wax additives. Shamrock Technologies’ new BioSLIP product line provides excellent slip and superior mar resistance with a controlled impact on gloss and clarity.

The BioSLIP lines incorporate naturally sourced materials into formulations that enhance the performance of inks and coatings. These materials help extend the useful life.

Joon Choo, president of Shamrock Technologies, noted that the drive toward sustainability is driving change on the industry.

“The move to sustainability is a catalyst for a lot of product innovation,” Choo said. “We acquired Astro Emulsions in South Carolina and are now expanding the product technology and portfolio to making ‘dismulsions’, including our latest biobased materials.’ The business paradigm has changed and it’s fun.”

Choo noted that despite recent supply chain issues, Shamrock Technologies is maintaining prompt, reliable shipping for their customers.

“Our key challenges are the same as everyone else’s – supply chain, sustainability and what it takes to supply our customers,” Choo said. “We don’t want to let them down.”

Choo said that it is great to be back at the ACS.

“We haven’t had a show in so long,” Choo said. “We have our sales and technical team here. Everyone is excited to be coming back to reconnect with our customers.”
